Client Background

Sarah is a 28-year-old marketing executive working at a fast-paced digital agency in New York. Known for her drive and creativity, she had always performed well under pressure — until a high-stakes product launch in early 2024 triggered her first panic attack during a team presentation. What began as an isolated incident quickly escalated into a recurring pattern. Within weeks, Sarah was experiencing panic attacks multiple times per week — often before meetings, calls, or deadlines — leaving her exhausted, embarrassed, and increasingly avoidant of professional situations.

The Challenge

By the time Sarah reached out to Azura, her anxiety had significantly impacted her daily functioning. She reported difficulty sleeping the night before important meetings, constant physical symptoms including heart palpitations and shortness of breath, and a growing fear that she was losing control of her career.

“I was terrified to go to work. Something I used to love had become the source of my greatest fear. I didn’t recognize myself anymore lorem ipsum dolor.”

Our Approach

Dr. Sarah Mitchell developed a structured 8-session CBT program specifically tailored to Sarah’s triggers and workplace context. The program was divided into three phases:

Phase 1 — Assessment & Psychoeducation (Sessions 1–2)

Understanding the anxiety cycle, identifying specific triggers, and introducing the CBT framework. Sarah learned how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected — and how to start observing her own patterns.

Phase 2 — Skills Building (Sessions 3–6)

Introducing and practicing diaphragmatic breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, cognitive restructuring to challenge catastrophic thinking, and gradual exposure to anxiety-provoking workplace scenarios through structured exercises.

Phase 3 — Integration & Relapse Prevention (Sessions 7–8)

Consolidating skills, reviewing progress, building a personalized relapse prevention plan, and establishing long-term self-management strategies to sustain gains independently.
